Starting Line
Race Kit Pickup

Kits may be picked up on race morning in the registration area in Dr. G.W. Williams S.S. from 7am to 8am, OR

Saturday April 26th, 2008, 10:00am to 6:00pm and Friday April 25th, 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Newmarket Running Room store.

Shuttle service from the Aurora Go station, starting at 7:40 a.m.

Watch for a red school bus with CAYRE printed on the side. The bus will leave from the main parking area on the west side of the tracks and shuttle athletes the 1.2 km to the race site at Dr. G.W. Williams S.S. The bus will leave the Aurora Go Station parking lot about every 10 minutes.

Shuttle service back to the Aurora Go Station begins at 10:45 a.m.

5k now starts at 9:20 a.m.

T-Shirts

All runners who register for the half marathon race, walk and half marathon relay prior to April will receive a Brooks tech t-shirt. All other runners (including all 5k runners) will receive a long sleeve cotton race shirt.

The Races

Half Marathon Walk: 8:00am
Half-marathon Race: 9:00am
Two-person Half-marathon Relay Race: 9:00am
5km Race: 9:10am
Children's Merry Mini Mile: 9:45am

Start time for half marathon walkers is 8:00am. Please arrive early. Your start will be officially announced. All walkers will be chip timed. Please walk on the sidewalks along the route until the bulk of runners have passed. Please stay to the right and walk no more than 2 abreast to avoid interference with runners.

The exchange point for the relay race will be at approximately the 10.5km mark along the course. Buses will be provided to transfer runners to and from the exchange point. A Porta-Pottie and aid station will be present.

Be safe, be careful! Please exercise caution along the route. Stay within the coned lanes on the race course and follow the directions of the Police and Race Marshalls. Always use caution at the railway crossings. Should something interfere with the race, wait and continue when safe to do so. Turning around or deviating from the race course is cause for immediate disqualification.

Aid Stations & Timing

Runners will be provided with Powerade and water at six aid stations along the route. Championchip Timing will be used for results. Split times will be given at the one mile and half-way marks. There will be a $40.00 charge for unreturned chips.

Washrooms

Washrooms are available at Dr. G.W. Williams S.S., the start area and at all 6 water/aid stations which will be aproximately every 3 km along the route.

Post-Race Food

We are thrilled that the Optimist Club of Aurora will offer pancake breakfasts to everyone!

Parking

Free parking is available at the Aurora GO Station, Aurora Public Library and Dr. G.W. Williams S.S.

Baggage Check

A baggage check will be available at the start area.
