
The Races
2008 marks the 7th Annual Bob Hartwell Runner's Challenge.
The races are being organized in support of The Community Safety Village of York Region and the Southlake Regional Health Centre.
Half Marathon Race
9:00 am 21.1 kilometers
Half Marathon Walk
8:00am. 21.1 kilometers
Start time for half marathon walkers is 8:00am. Please arrive early. Your start will be officially announced. All walkers will be chip timed. Please walk on the sidewalks along the route until the bulk of runners have passed. Please stay to the right and walk no more than 2 abreast to avoid interference with runners.
Two-person Half Marathon Relay Race
9:00 am 21.1 kilometers.
The exchange point for the relay race will be at approximately the 10.5km mark along the course. This is on St. John Sideroad at Industrial Parkway North.
5 Km Race
9:10 am 5 kilometers. All ages and abilities welcome.
Children's Merry Mini Mile - sponsored by The Optimist Club of Aurora

Start time: 9:45 am. This is a free event is for young children. They must be registered (at the registration desk) by a parent on race day. All children will receive a free race bib number as a souvenir. The route will be one loop around the 400m track at Dr. G.W. Williams S.S.
Awards
Half marathon
Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place finishers in the open male and female categories. Age group prizes will also be awarded. Half marathon finishers will receive a medal at the finish line.
Two-person Half Marathon Relay
Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, third, fourth and fifth place finishers.
5k race
Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female runners.
Aid Stations and Timing
Runners will be provided with electrolyte replacement and water at six aid stations along the route.
Championchip Timing will be used for results. Split times will be called at the one mile and half-way marks. There will be a $40.00 charge for unreturned chips.
